Dr Laurenne See has worked across non-profit organisations and private practices, before deciding to open her own practice in 2014.
She dreamt of having a practice of skilled psychologists to offer the highest quality of psychological care for the Gold Coast community, and that was when Mind on Health was born! She is proud of the assistance Mind on Health has been able to offer to so many over the past 7 years.
Laurenne is a Clinical Psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. She has a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours and a post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
Laurenne provides individualised and evidence-based psychological treatment to assist her clients with their unique needs. Trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy, Laurenne is experienced working with people of various cultures, ages and backgrounds. She has the ability to gain rapport with her patients, allowing them to feel secure and comfortable quickly.
Laurenne understands that people come to therapy to talk about their experiences, thoughts, feelings, relationships and/or problems. She practices from a trauma-informed approach, acknowledging that for some people, traumatic experiences in earlier life can impact their mental, behavioural, emotional and physical well-being, well into adulthood. Laurenne assists clients to understand the connection between these experiences and their emotional and behavioural responses, and to develop healthier ways of coping.
Her special interests include but are not limited to:
